Omaha basics rules
Omaha is another variant of Texas Hold'em. The gameplay is very similar. The main difference is that each player in Omaha has four hands of cards, while Texas Hold'em only has two hands of cards. In addition, the methods for calculating hand cards and community card combinations are also different. In the Omaha game, players must only select two of the four cards in their hands, and only three of the five community cards can be selected to create the strongest combination. The combination will win the game. For example, the player has A, K, 3, 3 in his hand, and the public cards are 2,3, 4,5, K. The player can only take out A, 3, plus the public cards 2, 4, 5 to form A, 2. ,3,4,5 straight (assuming there is no flush). The other rules are basically the same as Texas Hold’em.
Example :
Own cards :
Opponent's cards :
Public card
In conclusion :
Take it out from your own card , add public card of , to make a straight.
Opponent takes out , add public card of , to make a three of a kind.
Straight won the opponent's three of a kind.
The most basic and common Omaha is Pot Limit, which is Pot Limit Omaha. Players' bets in each round are limited by the minimum bet.
Other types of Omaha include Omaha Hi-Lo, Omaha 5, Omaha 5 Hi-Lo, Omaha 6, and Omaholic.
Omaha Hi-Lo
Omaha Hi-Lo is played the same as basic Pot Limit Omaha, but with one more combination of two tricks. One of these strategies is Omaha Hi. This is the same as the basic Pot Limit Omaha strategy. The player with the strongest combination wins the Omaha Hi part. The other part is Omaha Lo. The strategy of this part is that when a player has an Omaha Lo combination, the winner will be calculated based on the weakest card combination. The weakest hand is A, 2, 3, 4, 5. Flushes are not counted, and the 5 cards in the combination cannot be repeated, nor can they be greater than 8, so that Omaha Lo is considered. If no player has the combination of Omaha Lo, then only the Omaha Hi part of the hand will be counted, and whoever has the strongest hand will win the entire pot. But if a player owns Omaha Lo, half of the pot will be allocated to the winner of Omaha Lo, and the other half of the pot will be allocated to the winner of Omaha Hi. Omaha Hi and Omaha Lo can reuse any hand to calculate combinations. The same player can win Omaha Hi and Omaha Lo at the same time, which is Scoop, which means winning the entire pot, or two players can win Omaha Hi and Omaha Lo respectively, which means there are two winners in this round.
